General Charles Pearre Cabell (1903–1971) was a United States Air Force officer and Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. After graduating from West Point in 1925, he held key intelligence positions including Director of Air Force Intelligence (1948–1951) and Director of Staff for the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1951–1953). On April 23, 1953, he was appointed Deputy Director of the CIA under Allen Dulles, a position he held for nearly a decade. Cabell was promoted to full general in 1958 and was forced to resign by President Kennedy on January 31, 1962, following the failure of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, in which he had played a central planning and advocacy role.
